A team from the Mueang Chonburi Police led by Police Chief Colonel Nitat Weanpradap held a reenactment in the Baan Suan sub-district this afternoon, September 14th, 2021.
Colonel Nitat told The Pattaya News, “The suspect, Mr. Wisathorn Tawanna, 34, has been arrested and is being charged with murder.”
“On Saturday (September 11th) the suspect argued with Mr. Sawasdee Moonta, 42, in front of a rental room. The argument began because Mr. Moonta, who had been walking in the area, had allegedly been staring at the suspect, causing a confrontation.” Colonel Nitat stated.
“Mr. Sawasdee attempted to defend himself with a knife he had on his person while Mr. Wisathorn attacked him with a red hand truck that had been sitting outside of the rental room where the argument took place. Mr. Sawasdee was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr. Wisathorn sped away. We managed to track him down and arrest him with the assistance of CCTV in the vicinity.” Colonel Nitat explained.
Wisathorn has reportedly admitted, “Sawasdee was staring at me and making me uncomfortable, leading to an argument. I didn’t intend to kill him and meant to use the hand truck to defend myself as he also had a knife.”
Colonel Nitat stated that Mueang Chonburi police believe that despite Moonta also having a weapon that Wisathorn was the primary aggressor in the confrontation.
